My heart is overflowing and my soul, inspired as my PODCAST INTERVIEW for ‘Let’s Talk About It!’ is now LIVE and in the world!
I had the honor of sitting down with Kimberly DeShields Spencer of Behind Her Brand where she asked me some of the most heartfelt and intentional questions about entrepreneurship, motherhood, my expanded coaching business, vulnerability and more!
She asked,
“Something about you that I’ve always loved and been connected to is that you are very vulnerable. You are very honest. I don’t think there’s a question I would ask you and you wouldn’t be honest about. There are a lot of people who are not comparable being that way publicly, and you are. How did you get to the place where you’re comfortable in the space?”
Part of my long winded reply,
“The better that we understand ourselves, the better we can support other people and the better this world will ultimately become. I have been committed to and want to pull back my layers - wither they're joyful or sad. Positive or negative. I want to digest them, understand them and be able tor share them with the world because I know that if I’ve gone through it, others have to. The only way were going to build trust and community is through these common understandings and knowings that we are all human, we are all going though it and I truly believe, we are all doing the best that we can. We only know what we know and I think its our duty to shine our light so that other people can be inspired and know what life is like not just for themselves, but for others.”
I am honored.
I am humbled.
I am truly so incredibly blessed to be on this journey, living my dream life, being inspired and inspiring, every single day!

Honestly.
This honor.
This privilege.
This acknowledgment.
This opportunity to be in communication.
In connection.
In conversation with two grounded women, other momentreprenuers, getting
to share my story, my journey, my vulnerability, has been SUCH AN INSPIRATION!
Getting to sit with, share with, be in space with Tanya Monuma and Shilpa Lewis of Mindful Mompreneur Moments
PODCAST brought me back to the very place I found myself in 2013.
That of truly turning my dream life into a reality, jumping and really living, not simply existing.
Here’s an excerpt,
“My life drastically changed in 2013. I was working at the local PBS station in Southern California and I loved my job, but this voice kept repeating over and over again, ‘Am I just existing or am I actually living? Am I just existing or am I actually living?’ And it wasn’t going away. I had studied African history (called Africana Studies) in college and always knew I wanted to live and teach in Africa. Immediately, I applied for an organization called World Teach where I then went and taught in Tanzania for that stent of three months. I met my now husband while in Tanzania. He’s a South African and at the time running a whale shark conversation camp....”
Listen to learn more about living, loving and teaching abroad. More on jumping and turning my dream life into a reality. Insight into being a momentrepreneur. My commitment to and success of running my first half marathon. Lots of laughter, vulnerability and more.
Thank you again SO much to the inspirational souls behind this podcast for seeing me so fully,
so deeply, so openly and creating the space for me to share my story.
I am forever grateful. Thank you.

When I got asked, I didn’t feel deserving of it. When I replied to the interview questions, I did so with inspiration in my heart, joy in my soul, pride in the smile on my face and gratitude surrounding my whole being. As I reflected on where I am, how I’ve grown, what I so deeply long to share with this world, I knew I deserved this.
My friend, it’s here, like really here, live, in the flesh. The first of many, many series of the epic “Behind Her Brand” magazine.
This is a magazine that comes out six times a year (every other month) featuring 13 different women who are leaders, change agents, community builders, cultivators and innovators. I am honored, to be, one of those 13.
It’s an interview style alongside photographs, fun facts and more. Of all the questions, my favorite... “What impact do you want to leave on the world?”
My reply, “I want my actions to serve as an inspiration for living wholly, fully, intentionally, lovingly, rawly, bravely. I want to be a reminder of all things possible. Of turning dreams into realities. Of listening to our hearts as opposed to our minds. Of honoring ours truth, regardless of what society says. Of living through, with, in the lens of love. Of jumping, time and time again and trusting that you’ll will be caught, just as you should. Of believing in divine timing, knowing everything unfolds according to a greater plan. Of tasking risks, putting oneself out there, sharing vulnerably, bravely. Of ensuring the people we love, know how much we love them. Of being true to oneself, our families, loved ones, clients, community and ultimately the village surrounding us.”
So much more was shared from my journey to today, my business and it’s expansion, where I find my inspiration, failures, values and what I know for sure!

I have such a love for, a passion for writing, for being able to express myself, life and the experiences that coincide through words. In September of 2017, I submitted my chapter, for a women's collaborative book, "In Her Shoes : Stronger Version of Me!" Each chapter is a little different, the book as a whole reflecting and written by seven different women, sharing their journeys of becoming stronger version of themselves!
My chapter, well, it was on the reality of truly starting to live verses just existing and my journey to Tanzania! Just a few months later, in November of 2017, "In Her Shoes : Stronger Version of Me" launched! What an honor, what an incredible experience of getting to share my experience of stretching my soul and living, loving and teaching in Mafia Island Tanzania!
