Sitting on my hotel floor. Pages are packed. Babes is coloring. Hubby is drinking coffee. Our ferry leaves in a couple hours and the sentiment, just needs to be shared. This island. This couple. The love felt. The love spread. It’s truly been a dream, on all levels. To work with a bride, a couple that is so intentional, so family focused, so welcoming, so loving serves as the most serene reminder of what is possible when we all live in our truths, from a place of love. Last year, I was connected to and honored to do their family photos and a few engagements. They had no plans of their wedding at that time, just knew they wanted to celebrate their love and more excitedly with his son, soon to be her son. Immediately, I was blown away by Britta’s compassion, her calmness and connection to Caleb, her soon-to-be stepson. Then, I noticed John. He was present. He was joyful. He radiated this supportive contentment in the connection he was witnessing and a part of. Our exchange, their photo shoot, imprinted deeply on my heart. They are special, very special. Their bond, truly unbreakable, inspirational, intentional. Fast forward to the beginning of this year. Britta messages me and says we’re booking our wedding in Catalina, but I need to know if you’re available before we book. Melt me now. Within a few weeks, the date, the venue - oh was it set. We quickly started talking about timelines, their vision, how we can turn dreams into realities. They did another tour of the island and scouted out first look locations, this one being the obvious winner! Their wedding day. It was calm. It was intimate. It was peaceful. It was so incredibly loving. It was simply perfection in the moment! Britta and John - congratulations! It has been an absolute honor being witness to your love. Your wedding day, the intentionality behind every moment, was felt fully. The way you embraced my family being here, with me, is a feeling, I will hold dear.
