Kennedy's Birth Photography - Fullerton, California

This morning. This very experience hasn't deviated from my heart, not even once. What I witnessed, what I experienced, what I felt from getting to share such a vibrant and intimate photographic exchange with this family was truly life altering. The three of us (the lovely parents you see here) had multiple calls leading up to the big day. We chatted about hospital procedures, plan A, plan B and knowing there wasn't a need for plan C.

I joyfully arrived bright and early at 7AM on delivery day. A massive Starbucks in one hand, my camera bag in another. As I arrived, Ryan messaged me to let me know I couldn't be in the room till everyone was clear and recovered. Although, plan A was no longer an option, without any hesitation we went to plan B. I anxiously sat in the waiting room, awaiting the updated messages on the next moves. At one point, I got up to go to the bathroom, as I shut the door, I heard the elevator door ding. I knew it was them. I jumped of the bathroom. Mary looked at me and said, "My sister!" I smiled and just took in the overwhelming joy in her eyes. Ryan, just behind her, pushing Baby Kennedy in her little plastic bassinet. Time, it really slowed down.

The moments, the moments just after have enriched my life more than imaginable. To witness this little family, the three of them discovering themselves and life as three (before baby Kennedy's older brothers got to meet her), was overwhelming joyful. The love, the happiness, the knowing, the undoubtable connection and bond, it was all so inspiring.

To this new family, a family of which I truly feel part of, thank you for one of the greatest honors and joys I've experienced in my photography career. ⠀
