Friend, reflecting on the DECADE, not just the year has had tears in my eyes, a fullness in my heart and a deep understanding in my soul.This past decade signifies a signifiant transition from just existing to FULLY, FULLY living. There are sooooooo many monumental moments that I want to share, that I want to elaborate on — of which, are all personal endeavors that have then transpired into me launching my passion of a profession, my business Ashley Strong Photography, and ultimately then my corporation Strong Smith Inc. You see, if it wasn’t for each and everyone of these moments, my photographic reality would not be that of a reality. I sat in my cubical at the non-profit I was working at out of college, headphones in my ears, with a question on repeat, “Am I just existing, or am I actual living?” That day, was the start of a whole new reality, a whole new me. It was the start of both listening to and following my intuition. It was the start of living a life I had always dreamed about. As I reflect more specifically on this past year, I am truly in awe of what has been brought into my life. Some highlights from the last decade: 🌿I’ve taught English in Tanzania, Costa Rica and South Africa. 🌿 I received my yoga teacher certification and taught for a number of years. 🌿I met my husband on a small island off the coast of Tanzania where we lived for a half of year. 🌿He proposed at a winery called Creation and months later, we took our engagement portraits at our favorite beach in Cape Town, South Africa. 🌿I lived in Cape Town, South Africa off and on for three years - as it took that long to get his visa approved to move and live in the States 🌿We were finally able to get married in January of 2017 🌿In 2015, I launched Ashley Strong Photography full time and have been honored to have my business grow significantly each and every year since - 2020 will mark FIVE years in business. 🌿I co-authored a book where I shared my experience on living my dream life. 🌿I hosted my first ever cultural art show showcasing dozens of time capsules from living, loving and traveling around this world. 🌿We first grew our family through getting our two our babies. 🌿Then, then the greatest honor happened at the end of 2018 when we found out a sweet little soul would be joining our world and in July of 2019, our daughter, Orion Terry Smith came earth side. 🌿Amongst all of this was a whole lot of yoga, development, travels, love, laughter, intention, tears, hikes, coffee, friendships, expansiveness, gratitude and every more. Oh world, everyday is an opportunity to start a new. To listen to our intuitions. To let our souls be our guides. To turn dreams into realties. To live intentionally. To be the absolute best version of ourselves. To support, to uplift, to shine our lights so brightly, constantly reminding one another to do the same. May this year, this new decade bring about everything your soul desires. Happy New Year friend.
