The universe is quite funny. The weather, even more funny. All night and morning, it rained and drizzled. As I drove to the wedding, I did so through a massive rain cloud. I called my wedding assistant extradnanire and had her pick up two clear umbrellas and a white towel. I arrived at the venue, with blue sky peaking out from the clouds and the sun, hidden just behind those slowly moving clouds. Not a drizzle, all day after arriving. For this, and being able to document at this very venue, I am insanely grateful.
This couple has been planning a wedding, not knowing if it would come to life in their envisioned form due to the unknowns of covid. Thankfully, the venue got clearance just in time to host both the ceremony and reception. Que all the music. This venue, is dear to my heart. One in which I am beyond blessed to be on their vendor list. One in which has brought couples into my life who have truly become dear friends and have witnessed and documented the growth of their families. For this very couple, these moments right here, sneaking away for sunset portraits even with the dramatic, stormy sunset, were some of their most anticipated moments. We all joyfully adventured down to the sand, the bride trucking around in her heels, the waves crashing in the distance. They kissed, they danced, they engulfed themselves in one another. I witnessed. I documented. I brought to life these fleeting moments, into that of tangible ones. The groom, while picking his bride up, even took one for the team - the first time in the history of doing weddings, a wave caught up to them quickly, he lifted his bride higher, his feet and bottom of his pants being soaked by the stormy waves. They laughed. Her dressed was saved. They were gloriously in the moment. It was perfect.
