When flowers meet the sea - cliff springtime family session - Palos Verdes, California

One thing I know to be true in this moment is that for so long, I made it about the destination. And I had it all wrong.
It’s about the journey.
Fully about the journey.

My intentions for the destination were honest, intentional and pure. They were from the driven side of myself, that loves to accomplish, achieve, see tangible results. You know, that overachiever, perfectionist in me.

And then, I began to acknowledge the part of myself that truly loved being engulfed in the present.

The part of myself that felt at peace, content and fully nourished.

This, is when I really became aware of how deeply I am connected to the journey, its importance and how in that messy middle, that in-between, that bridging of the gap, the magic happens.

With this awareness, I have noticed and felt an ever deeper shift in all that I am and do.

Whatever expression at hand - coaching, photography, podcasting, parenting, partnering, being fully me has expanded, evolved, flourished.

And this, this very reality, I am more proud of myself for than reaching any destination.

These photos right here, of a family I’ve been documenting for years, feel like a very tangible reflection of what I mean by all of this.

There is a deepened sense of presence, of peace, of contentment in these moments. That of being fully together, honoring, being witness to and documenting what it means for my subjects, this family to be on their journey together, in whatever expression that is. What a beautiful place to be.

Yes, it’s something I’ve always done, documenting as intentionality and best as I could, but its shifted, because I’ve shifted.

Its shifted because I’ve opened up the space and the passage for all other expressions of my being to come into light.

And this, this is the most beautiful place to be.

If you’re wanting to expand, grow, extend yourself and services to new depths, this is your invitation and permission to do so.

Creative expressions come in so many forms and truly can be the most beautiful compliment to one another.
